Biography
Hae-Uk is a highly experienced practitioner who focuses on Japanese acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. She has over 25 years of experience in East Asian medicine.
Hae-Uk began her career as a physician in Berlin, where she worked for several years before studying acupuncture in China and Australia. It was during this time that she was introduced to the Japanese style of acupuncture, which she went on to study, furthering her training in Australia and Japan.
Hae-Uk has completed postgraduate training in Dr Yoshio Manaka protocols and Kiiko Matsumoto’s clinical strategies, and has studied under renowned Japanese acupuncturist Tsuyoshi Shimamura Sensei, a former student of Master acupuncturist Kiyoshi Nagano. In March 2019, she completed her postgraduate training in Nagano-style acupuncture.
After completing her postgraduate studies in counselling at the Australian College of Applied Psychology in 2004, she incorporated stress & anxiety management into her scope of treatments.
In addition to her comprehensive training in acupuncture, Hae-Uk has a keen interest in Classical herbal medicine. She completed an intensive postgraduate training program under internationally renowned scholar Dr Arnaud Versluys, founder of the Institute of Classics in East Asian Medicine in Portland, USA. Hae-Uk graduated in January 2014, after completing her three-year training.
Hae-Uk’s treatments also incorporate Western and Eastern medical knowledge to formulate optimal treatment strategies for her patients. Her scope of treatments includes stress and anxiety management, women’s health, relaxation methods, and nutrition.
Her latest area of interest includes Lifestyle DNA reports, now offered as part of the holistic services at Ondol Clinic, complementing her integrative medical approach and supporting patients in making personalised, informed choices to optimise their long-term health and lifestyle.
Hae-Uk is committed to continual learning and is passionate about providing the best possible care to her patients.
