Sue was introduced to acupuncture, massage and yoga in 1988. A course in massage inspired her to continue studies for formal qualifications as a massage therapist. Sue completed her Associate Diploma of Massage Therapy in 1991 at The Australian College of Natural Medicine and shortly after operated  her own Remedial Massage Business at Brisbane Hilton's Executive Health Club. Not quite satisfied, she took time off to travel overseas and explore and expand on traditional medicines and cultures. Her travels took her to Thailand and Nepal, where she completed a Thai massage course. She then continued her adventure in Israel, Turkey, Egypt, Europe and the UK. During this reflective time she realised what had been missing for her: To work alongside other practitioners following the value of a holistic approach to health care. It was of no surprise that she took the opportunity to join a multimodality natural therapy clinic in 2000,  where she worked as a remedial massage therapist for 11 years side by side with naturopaths, herbalists and acupuncturists. During this time she encountered the benefits of Japanese acupuncture, which laid  the seed for years later when she commenced her studies in acupuncture and Oriental medicine. Her interest and passion for an  energetic approach to healing lead Sue to study and practice Astanga yoga, Reiki and the Australian bush flower essences. She completed her yoga teacher training in Radiant Light Yoga in 2002. She continued working as a massage therapist incorporating yoga and body movement into her repertoire. However, her love and interest for acupuncture finally lead her to commence a full time study at the Endeavour College of Natural Health in Brisbane, where she  completed her Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture in 2017.

While studying acupuncture Sue learnt Tui Na, a  Chinese style of medical massage and started to  immediately incorporate the new techniques into her massage practice from 2012. Sue loved that Tui Na was in complete alignment with the diagnostics and concepts of traditional Chinese medicine theory and the meridian system of acupuncture. Deepening her interest, she undertook an elective on Tui Na, specifically for women and children. Through her course she was able to enhance her understanding of energy and massage profoundly taking her broad knowledge of  bodywork to another level. Experimenting with different indications she found she could particularly help people with pain and discomfort, even for complex syndromes like fibromyalgia.

The studies of acupuncture and Tui Na have been a natural extension during Sue’s life long quest in finding the right tools for her approach to holistic medicine. According to her, Oriental medicine provides the practitioner with an ever evolving opportunity to refine and expand their skills and broaden their approach to body and mind.
